Greg Easterling
Midnight - 5amGreg's near lifelong interest in rock 'n roll radio began in 1967 while listening to WLS and WCFL. He also started scanning the local FM dial for "underground radio" shows like Triad and the more adventurous music they played. A few years later, a teacher told him he had "a good radio voice" and in twelfth grade, Greg began broadcasting on the New Trier High School station. He got hooked on radio as a career while attending the University of Illinois, becoming Program Director of his college station and interviewing artists like The Beach Boys, ELP's Carl Palmer, Poco's Richie Furay, and Marshall Tucker's Toy Caldwell.
A blur of real world radio jobs followed and Greg eventually landed on-air in Chicago in 1987. He also wrote for The Illinois Entertainer and began hosting his own public radio show on WDCB. While writing, Greg had the chance to meet all the original members of his favorite 60's band, The Byrds, including David Crosby and Roger McGuinn.
Greg began hosting Saturday mornings on The Drive soon after it debuted, and in July, 2004 came on board full time to host the overnight show, Monday through Friday.
