Arizona native Ronstadt has enjoyed a successful multi-genre career since heading to L.A. with a friend and starting the Stone Poneys. During the '60s, that group had several modestly successful folk-rock albums and one hit single, "Different Drum," penned by Monkee and White-Out heir Mike Nesmith.
