Catching up with Sting
Posted:Friday, 10/05/2012 at 02:10am by Greg Easterling
Tuesday was Sting's birthday. Sting, aka Gordon Sumner first came to our attention as a founding member of The Police and has continued to entertain us over the course of his long running solo career.

We featured a side from the first Police album, initially released in the fall of 1978 to a largely indifferent public reaction, at least over here in the States. The title wasn't even in English...Outlandos D'Amour, usually not a winning idea in these parts. That is until, the song "Roxanne" began to attract interest. Eventually the album would climb to #23 on the American album chart, very good for the first release by an unknown Brit band released in the flood of punk, new wave and power pop releases coming out at the time. We listened to Side 1 early Tuesday.
