We spotlighted the Eagles last week on The Drive's Thursday Artist Portrait featuring their second album, Desperado on our Overnight Album Side that morning.

This was the 1973 follow up to their popular self titled debut. Surprisingly, Desperado didn't perform nearly as well despite the presence of future classics such as "Tequila Sunrise" and the title track. Desperado was sort of a loosely organized concept album...rockers masquerading as outlaws with the band and their friends dressing up for the cover photos. Many of the songs had old west references but without any real unifying story line. Perhaps that would have taken too much work!

The songs were good musically nonetheless and we heard plenty of them on Side 1 including the two previously mentioned.
