Santana's Abraxas
Posted:Tuesday, 10/09/2012 at 01:10am by Greg Easterling
We opened the week with Santana's blockbuster second album, Abraxas, released in the fall of 1970. It's a wide ranging mix of rock, jazz, electric blues and latin music played by the Santana lineup featured at Woodstock.

While the original songs are great, many of them instrumental, it's the cover versions that got the most notice. Santana's reinvention of Peter Green's "Black Magic Woman"(Fleetwood Mac) and Tito Puente's "Oye Como Va". We flipped the album over and listened to Side 2 this time; highlights included "Hope You're Feeling Better" and "Samba Pa Ti".
