Finishing on Friday with Fogerty
Posted:Friday, 10/12/2012 at 04:10am by Greg Easterling
We completed a full week of late night vinyl this morning with one of the great American rockers, John Fogerty, the legendary onetime leader of Creedence Clearwater Revival.

After Creedence disbanded for good in late 1972, it took awhile for Fogerty to find his way musically. First there was an album of classic country covers under the name Blue Ridge Rangers. Then by 1975, his first self titled solo album released by David Geffen at Asylum Records. The John Fogerty album was not a hit but it did bring us some new Fogerty songs including several that other artists wanted to cover, namely "Rockin' All Over The World"(Status Quo) and "Almost Saturday Night"(Dave Edmunds, Rick Nelson). Plus there were John's covers of some oldies he grew up with-- "Sea Cruise" and "Lonely Teardrops".

While his "Centerfield" album and a subsequent return to more live shows including playing his Creedence songs again in concert were still some time away, Fogerty was slowly moving the right direction. We listened to Side 2 this time.
