Happy Birthday Bill

Thursday was Bill Wyman's birthday...Bill, a founding Rolling Stone when the band began fifty years ago and the bass player on so many of their most classic recordings.

This time we had the early Stones album December's Children, released in late 1965. It was the third Rolling Stones album released in the United States in 1965 alone and their fifth US album overall. Like most of their '60s-'70s releases, December's Children soared to the top of the album chart, peaking at #4 and was certified gold. The album itself is a mix of singles such as the #1 hit "Get Off My Cloud" and the ballad "As Tears Go By", first rate covers of songs by legends like Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry and increasingly better original album tracks written by Mick and Keith. We listened to Side 2 this time which also includes "I'm Free" and the Stones' live version of the country standard, "I'm Movin' On".
