Back on Top with Cream
Posted:Monday, 11/26/2012 at 03:11am by Greg Easterling
Today is the anniversary of Cream's final 1968 show at Royal Albert Hall in London. It would be their last concert together until their 2005 reunion shows.

This morning we spotlighted their Goodbye album released in January of 1969, a mix of live and studio recordings, not unlike their classic Wheels Of Fire set, just not as long as the latter. Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker were rock's original heavy power trio, steeped in the blues and an important player as rock transitioned to a more mature improvisational musical style. We listened to Side 1, divided between two long jams, "I'm So Glad" and "Politician".
