Celebrating The Who In Concert

It was certainly a big week for The Who here in Chicago with not just one but two great performances at Allstate Arena, Thursday and Friday nights.

Even though it's only Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend left from the original band now, the current lineup including Pete's brother Simon and Ringo Starr's son Zak on drums did a wonderful job of bringing the classic Quadrophenia album to life in concert forty years after its release.

Roger looked and sounded great while Pete still brings it on guitar, excecuting those crowd pleasing windmills. After the band finished playing Quadrophenia, a final run of songs including several numbers from Who's Next plus "Who Are You" and "Pinball Wizard". Some great video tributes to fallen members Keith Moon and John Entwhistle were among the concerts' most moving moments. All in all, it was great to have The Who back in Chicago once more.
