Van The Man

We finished another week of vintage vinyl yesterday with one of the most distinctive vocalists in rock history. It was Van Morrison, the preeminent Irish singer and songwriter who we first encountered in the mid Sixties with his Belfast band Them and rock anthems like "Gloria" and "Here Comes The Night".

By the early Seventies, Van, now solo had broadened his musical approach to incorporate elements from a variety of styles, drawing from R&B, jazz, country and blues, filtered through Van's unique Celtic influenced musical perspective.

This time we tracked a side from Van's fine 1971 release, Tupelo Honey including the hit "Wild Night".
