Robbie Krieger's Birthday
Posted:Tuesday, 01/08/2013 at 04:01am by Greg Easterling
Hats off to Robbie Krieger, lead guitarist and founding member of The Doors as he celebrates another year today.

We celebrated too with a side from Morrison Hotel, one of The Doors' finest records, released in 1970 at a time when some thought their best work was already behind them. Morrison Hotel turned out to be a return to the band's rock and blues roots following the more elaborate, orchestrated sound of The Soft Parade, paving the way for The Doors' final great recording, L.A. Woman.

We flipped Morrison Hotel over to Side 2...with Side 1 being so awesome, it's easy to forget about songs like "Land Ho". "Queen of The Highway" and Maggie M'Gill" all of which reside on Side 2.
