Last Chance for January: UFO

We started our final week of Overnight Album Sides for January, 2013 today with UFO, the hard rockin' Brit band we've come to know over the years.

One of their best known members was guitarist Michael Schenker; he's featured on the album side we played this morning from 1977's Lights Out lp. UFO has often done well here in Chicago where they've gotten radio airplay and their 1978 album Strangers In The Night(the last one for many years with Schenker) was partially recorded at the old International Amphitheatre, the onetime southside venue for sports, concerts and conventions. Lights Out is one of UFO's most highly regarded records and this morning we flipped it over to play Side 2 which contains "Love To Love", "Gettin' Ready" and a faithful cover of Love's "Alone Again Or".

...saw them twice the last two years at the Arcada Theater...still great ....not to mention at the old Amp back in the 70's
