Beatles' Last Time

Today is the anniversary of The Beatles final live public performance on January 30, 1969 on the rooftop of a London office building. It happened in conjunction with a documentary film about the band being shot at the time; it came to be entitled "Let It Be", named after the Paul McCartney song of the same name.

The resulting record album was also entitled Let It Be and while it was actually recorded before the Abbey Road, it sat on the shelf unfinished until producer Phil Spector was hired to complete the project. It was finally released in early May of 1970 following Abbey Road. We listened to Side 2 today including "The Long And Winding Road" and "Get Back".
