Fully February This Week, st with Simon
Posted:Monday, 02/04/2013 at 04:02am by Greg Easterling
We began our first full week here in the month of February this morning with Paul Simon. Close to twenty years after Simon and Garfunkel, he was writing and recording some of the best music of his career.

Graceland stands as one of Paul's real musical landmarks, released in 1986. Perhaps his biggest breakthrough here was going to South Africa to find local musicians with whom to record; a number of great songs resulted from their collaboration. But there's more, particularly on Side 2 where Paul delves into zydeco with the Rockin' Dopsie Band from Louisiana. And then there's another track where he's backed by Los Lobos. It was a magical musical tour known as Graceland with Paul Simon as our guide this time.
