Heart's Dreamboat Annie
Posted:Thursday, 02/07/2013 at 04:02am by Greg Easterling
We got to the "heart" of things Wednesday morning with a band that did much to elevate the status of women in rock.

Heart is the Seattle band that still features Ann and Nancy Wilson in lead roles. Unlike many female performers in the Seventies, the Wilsons were focused on heavier role models like Led Zeppelin. You can hear that in the sound of their debut album, Dreamboat Annie and in particular, the hit single, "Crazy on You" with its mix of acoustic and electric guitars ala Jimmy Page. It's an approach that has proven successful for Heart; they'll be entering The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame this spring. We flipped the album over this time and checked out the lesser heard Side 2.
