Going Over like a Led Zeppelin

We featured Led Zeppelin on Thursday this week, getting our bearings on the overnight by going back to the beginning of the band and their crucial first record.

They weren't the first "heavy" band...we'd already heard Jimi Hendrix, Cream and some harder bands that followed in their wake but Zeppelin was different. Jimmy Page was forging his own version of blues infused rock featuring a uniquely textured approach combined with ultra memorable guitar riffs and traditional acoustic music influences. As for Robert Plant, nobody had ever sounded quite like him before, it was really that simple.

We listened to Side 1 this time...classic from start to finish..."Good Times Bad Times", "Babe I"m Gonna Leave You", "You Shook Me", and "Dazed and Confused". Hard to find a better side than that.
