Fleetwood Mac Plays On

We spotlighted Fleetwood Mac yesterday on The Drive. One of the highlights was our overnight feature of their classic 1969 album Then Play On, their first in a long running relationship with Warner Brothers Records and also sadly, the last to include legendary founding guitarist Peter Green.

On Then Play On, Fleetwood Mac was moving beyond the stricter blues rock confines of earlier records, embracing a broader, more progressive sound. Make no mistake though, the blues is still a major influence here. Guitarist Danny Kirwan's presence was felt as well, playing alongside Green and in the songs he contributed to the album.

We listened to Side 2 this time, including "Rattlesnake Shake" and "Although The Sun Is Shining".
