Birthday Wishes to DeYoung
Posted:Monday, 02/18/2013 at 04:02am by Greg Easterling
We began a brand new week of Overnight Album Sides today with a birthday salute to Dennis DeYoung, a founder of Styx and onetime lead singer/keyboardist for the longtime Chicago band.

This morning we featured the early 1981 release, Paradise Theatre, a concept album of sorts that told the tale of a make believe concert hall from the 1920's to 1950's. The major inspiration for the album seems to have come from Dennis who penned the majority of the album but not without some key input from the band's guitarists, James "JY" Young and Tommy Shaw, the latter of whom wrote "Too Much Time On My Hands". We heard that song on Side One this time along with "Rockin' The Paradise" and "The Best Of Times".
