A Birthday for U, Too
Posted:Friday, 03/15/2013 at 04:03am by Greg Easterling
Wednesday was the birthday of Adam Clayton, founding member and longtime bassist for U2. We returned to their 1984 release, The Unforgettable Fire which found the band tinkering with their overall sound with the help of noted producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. Thematically Bono was already looking beyond the band's native Ireland, casting an eye toward the States in songs referencing both Elvis and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This time we flipped the album over to Side 2 for tracks like "Bad" and "Fourth Of July".
