Styx Was Here...and Kilroy too
Posted:Thursday, 04/11/2013 at 04:04am by Greg Easterling
We cruised into midweek yesterday with Styx, our local Southside legends who sold a boatload of albums back in the day.

For the very first time here we featured their 1983 concept album Kilroy Was Here. Dennis DeYoung came up with the idea for this rock musical of sorts. The story is set in a futureworld where rock music has been outlawed by the government under the influence of a large Moral Majority-like group. The story's hero is Kilroy, an ex-rock star who escapes from jail to help another lead a pro-rock movement. We listened to Side 1 this time including the singles, "Mr. Roboto" and "Don't Let It End".
