Steely Dan- Katy Lied
Posted:Wednesday, 07/24/2013 at 04:07am by Greg Easterling
We hit the middle of our week this morning with Steely Dan and their 1975 release, Katy Lied. It was really the first Steely Dan album that relied more on studio musicians than regular band members. And there were a lot of musicians listed on that back cover...even the names of longtime band leaders Walter Becker and Donald Fagen were not placed all that prominently this time but of course most of us just knew...

We listened to Side 2 this time highlighted by "Everybody's Gone to The Movies" and "Any World(That I'm Welcome To)".

yes, I almost forgot...it was heavy on the Dan vinyl here over the last few weeks. Katy Lied by request...or influence on the 24th and then Gaucho on 8/1 as part of the Thursday feature. Hope you enjoyed, I know I did. The current lineup was steller at Ravinia last week.
