ELP Trilogy
Posted:Wednesday, 10/23/2013 at 04:10am by Greg Easterling
It's the middle of our week on the Overnight Drive here early on a Wednesday morning. It's been awhile since we've featured Emerson, Lake and Palmer, THE keyboard oriented supergroup from the early Seventies...Keith fr The Nice, Greg fr King Crimson plus Carl fr Atomic Rooster and Arthur Brown. This time it's their 1972 release, Trilogy, another step forward for the band creatively and commercially. We listened to Side 1 this time with "From The Beginning", "The Endless Enigma, Pts. 1 & 2", and their arrangement of Aaron Copeland's "Hoedown" fr Rodeo.

Your comments are always appreciated here my friend. Love those ELP recordings too, miss the keyboard artistry of Keith Emerson, responsible for some very exciting and sometimes even downright beautiful playing.

I heard the album side of Trilogy this morning, and it is a great album. I remember listening to the album with my older brothers when I was a little kid. That album came out in 1972, the year I was born. My favorite song is The Endless Enigma suite. I like how Part 1 segues into Fugue, and then into Part 2. I also like From The Beginning, The Sheriff, and Hoedown. Trilogy is an awesome album by Emerson Lake and Palmer, and I really enjoy it. I would one time like to hear Side 2 of the album featured on the Overnight Album Side. Those songs are good too.
