Ram On with Paul and Linda
Posted:Thursday, 10/24/2013 at 03:10am by Greg Easterling
We're featuring Paul McCartney today on The Drive's Thursday Artist Portrait. It's been quite a week for Paul with the recent release of the album, "New". We're going the other direction however, back to the spring of 1971 for Paul and Linda's album,"RAM". Like Paul's first solo album, "McCartney', "RAM" has a lo-fi, recorded at home kind of feel to it for the most part. It was criticized at the time, like many of Paul's early solo recordings as not being worthy of The Beatles' legacy but in retrospect, "RAM" has held up in a charming, low-key kind of way. We listened to Side 2 this time, highlighted by "Heart Of The Country", "Monkberry Moon Delight", and "Eat At Home".
