Neil's birthday
Posted:Tuesday, 11/12/2013 at 04:11am by Greg Easterling
It's Neil Young's birthday, one of those events we try our best to celebrate every year. Neil...definately one of the iconic figures of classic rock whose recorded output has been consistently strong over the decades, pretty much ever since we first met him with Buffalo Springfield back in the mid Sixties. This morning we spotlighted his best selling 1972 release Harvest, an album that wore its country and acoustic influences proudly. Yet there was also symphonic backing and electric jams on this LP as well. Just part of the diversity of Neil Young musically. We listened to Side 1 this time, featuring the hit single, "Heart of Gold" and "Are You Ready For the Country".

I heard the Overnight Album Side of Harvest by Neil Young this morning. That is a great album, and I really enjoy it. I like the song Hear of Gold. That is one of my favorite songs. I remember learning that song on the guitar when I was 12 years old. There is a lot of country sounding songs on the album too. Neil Young is a musical genius, and I really enjoy his music.
