PADS Crisis Services Cooling Center
If the calendar says it's June, can the heat and humidity be far behind? While PADS Crisis Services (Providing Advocacy, Dignity and Shelter) is probably most often associated with wintertime emergency shelter and hot meals, they also offer a Cooling Center at their office in North Chicago during the summer months. PADS' Assessment Center is located at the corner of Green Bay Road and Buckley Road on the grounds of the VA Medical Center in North Chicago (Building #5). The Cooling Center is open 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm for any Lake County resident who needs a place to get out of the heat.
