Heart

Southern California girls Ann and Nancy Wilson joined a Vancouver, B.C. band known as Heart in the early '70s; the group had existed in various forms since 1963, but it was the Wilson sisters who propelled it to stardom, starting with 1975's Dreamboat Annie. They developed a distinctive, take-no-prisoners hard rock style, and had several massive hit albums in the early '80s before hitting a slump. Always fronted by the Wilsons through numerous lineup changes, the band has enjoyed several comebacks over the years, though the sisters have often focused more intensively on side projects -- recently Nancy, married to Cameron Crowe, wrote the score to "Almost Famous," while Ann took part in the "A Walk Down Abbey Road: A Tribute to the Beatles" tour.
