Ten Years After
British blues-rockers Ten Years After made a dramatic impression on U.S. audiences with their memorable nine-minute performance of "I'm Going Home" at Woodstock. The song, which featured the pyrotechnic guitar technique and hyperventilating vocals of Alvin Lee, helped drive the band's later success on both sides of the Atlantic. Eventually the group moved in a somewhat poppier direction, as evidenced by their Top 40 single "I'd Love to Change the World," before breaking up in 1974. Ten Years After reunited in the late '80s for a reunion tour of Europe and a new album.
