Supertramp

Founded in 1969 by English vocalist/keyboardist Roger Davies, Supertramp came to epitomize the art of the catchy, tightly-written pop song and scored a few platinum records in the process. Noteworthy among their contemporaries for combining top-notch musicianship with excellent songwriting talent, they achieved a string of hits throughout the '70s, culminating with the classic Breakfast in America in 1979. The departure of founding member Roger Hodgson in the '80s ended the original band, but the group has periodically reunited for tours and albums since then.
