Loggins And Messina
During their short career, Loggins & Messina were one of the biggest hit factories in the U.S., and both members went on to successful solo careers. In 1970, songwriter Kenny Loggins approached producer Jim Messina (already a veteran of Poco and Buffalo Springfield) for some help in making his first solo album. Messina agreed to produce, but the chemistry took over, and 1972's Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina Sittin' In went gold and stayed on the charts for two years. Over the next four years, hit albums and singles followed one after the other, all in an irresistibly infectious country-rock style. In 1976 the duo split for individual careers after releasing two farewell albums, the greatest-hits collection Best of Friends and the live Finale.
