The Ides Of March
In the mid-60s, several talented young friends from Berwyn, Illinois came together to form a group called the Ides of March. While even the most popular teen acts fade away over time, the Ides have defied the odds. Now, more than 35 years later, they are still going strong, creating new music and playing to capacity crowds. With their original lyrics and melodic blend of horns and rock, the band catapulted to the top of the rock music heap with the 1970 release, "Vehicle." This smash hit became their signature song, topping the Cashbox chart and reaching #2 on Billboard. In addition, the Ides released several songs that were locally popular, including "You Wouldn't Listen to Me" and the soulful "L.A. Goodbye," which became a #1 hit in Chicago. Today, the Ides are still marching on, with a plethora of tour dates and two amazing releases. Age Before Beauty showcases the band's vast array of musical talent with a more contemporary sound. Ideology - 1966 to Present catalogs the group's greatest hits along with new original songs. In the very near future, we will be adding individual biographies for the members of this great band.
