Kathy VoltmerWeekdays 5am - 10am
This news veteran has journeyed around Chicago's radio dial since coming to the market in 1986. Most recently, Kathy was a member of the original "Media Creatures" team with Rick Kogan and Richard Roeper, and then was a midday host on WMAQ. Kathy has also explored the world of television, and has appeared frequently as a contributing correspondent on WTTW's "Chicago Tonight". Over the years, Kathy's news and public affairs work has received top awards from the Associated Press, The Chicago Headline Club, the Illinois Broadcasters Association, and the New York Radio Festival. An Indiana native, her family moved to Crete, Illinois in the mid-1970's. She's a graduate of University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Kathy lives on the north side of Chicago and her hobbies include golfing, travel, seeing live music, reading, and the Cubs (sorry Sox fans).
