Join The Drive at Moving Day Chicago 2014

Help do whatever it takes to beat Parkinson's disease! Join The Drive at the 3rd Annual National Parkinson Foundation's Moving Day Chicago, to raise awareness and funds for research, treatment, and outreach. This family-friendly event is in Chicago's Lincoln Park, on Sunday morning, October 19. Don't want to walk? Come anyway - there's lots to do in the Movement Pavilion, Resource Pavilion, and kids' area. Maybe you can even get a free massage! For more information, CLICK HERE.

Charity Spotlight

Put on your Halloween costume and take part in the 'Halloween Hustle' 5 K Fun Run and Walk, supporting the work of Fathers Helping Fathers. Join The Drive in historic downtown Palatine, on Eric Drive just north of Colfax on Saturday morning, October 25th - and stick around for a festive after-race party at Durty Nellie's Pub.     ALIVE Rescue 
   ALIVE Rescue, a no-kill green animal rescue in Chicago, is searching for families and individuals interested in fostering a homeless animal. ALIVE does not have a facility so relies on it's foster families to shelter and care for its adoptable animals. ALIVE provides all the supplies and medical care each animal needs, all you need to do is provide a temporary home to a unwanted animal. Foster for as little as 10 days to a few months depending on your schedule. Currently ALIVE is recruiting dog foster homes, interested parties should visit www.aliverescue.org and fill out a foster application. Every time you foster you save the life of a homeless animal.

    Alzheimer's Association 
   The national volunteer agency dedicated to researching the prevention, cure and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders and to providing support and assistance to individuals with Alzheimer's disease and their families and caregivers. The Greater Illinois Chapter's mission is to meet the needs of an ethnically and culturally diverse population by: providing guidance and support for persons with dementia and their caregivers, educating and informing the community, advocating for improved public policy and promoting needed legislation, and supporting research into cause(s), prevention, treatment and cure for Alzheimer's disease.
